As capas são duras: a frontal tem o fundo com tecido preto de bolinhas brancas e um grande coração vermelho; a posterior é com o tecido preto de bolinhas brancas.

Another order for a university girl, but this time a romantic and cute book!

The covers are tough: the front has a background fabric with black white polka dots and a big red heart, the back cover is also covered with the  black fabric with white polka dots.

O livro mede 22cm de comprimento por 25,5cm de altura, com 2,5cm de espessura e pesa aproximadamente 850 gramas. 

São 150 folhas (300 páginas) de papel offset 120g/m²  na cor branco.

The book measures 22cm in length by 25.5 cm height, 2.5 cm thick and weighs about 850 grams.

There are 150 sheets (300 pages) ofset paper, 120g / m²,  in white color.

A costura Copta possibilita uma abertura de 360º, usei linha encerada vermelha para combinar com o coração.

The Coptic stitching allows an opening of 360º, I used red waxed thread to match the red heart. 

E agora, o pacote característico Brigit: selos, carimbos, mandala, etiqueta...tudo artesanal.

Vontade de fazer livros antigos!

Além dos Livros das Sombras que adoro fazer resolvi expandir um pouco mais esse meu lado 'antigo' e deu nisto: um livro com capa macia, todo em courino, com as folhas costuradas diretamente na lombada e fechamento com tarja de courino.

What a desire to make old books!

Beyond the Books of Shadows I love to do, I decided to expand a bit on my  'old' side and did a book with fluffy covers, all in courino with the sheets  directly sewn on the spine and the closure with a  courino stripe.

Fiz 5 modelos diferentes, cada um com uma cor diferente na lombada. Usei linha encerada nas cores azul, creme, lilás, branco e verde.

I did 5 different models each with a different color on the spine. I used waxed thread in blue, cream, lilac, white and green colors.

O fechamento é por amarração como nos tempos antigos e em 2 modelos eu coloquei botões.

The closure is by tying as in the ancient times and  I've put buttons in two models.

Em alguns modelos também coloquei marcadores de páginas.

In some models I've also put bookmarks.

O livro tem uma abertura ótima pois as capas macias facilitam essa abertura.

The book has a great opening for the soft covers facilitate this opening.

Cada livro tem 64 folhas, ou seja 128 páginas, mede 12cm x 16,5cm e pesa apenas 180 gramas.

Ótimos pra escrever, desenhar....

Há pouco tempo mostrei livros antigos bem pequenos, e agora fiz estes maiores mas a vontade de fazer mais  ainda permanece....quem sabe uns livrinhos antigos minúsculos mesmo?

The prediction was that it was going to be ready for the Confederations Cup and it's not.

4th - Dilma says there's no public money invested in the construction of arenas that will host World Cup games: it's a LIE, cash Cup does not come out of nowhere, came rather from the federal budget even if in the form of loans, these loans were made to large contractors who had enough money to do the work themselves. If only those who buy ticket can watch the game, why  the entire population must pay the stadium?

5th - Dilma says that she increased investment in public health: it's a LIE, 10 years since the PT took the federal government, by contrast, has reduced investments in health.





We do not need more circus Cup, Dilma. We want much more than this and we want it now.

Inverno 2013! (Winter 2013!)

Hoje é o dia oficial do nosso Inverno aqui no Hemisfério Sul!

Ah, como eu adoro o Inverno....se tivesse neve como lá em cima, aí, seria um Inverno perfeito!

Não aquela neve que impede as pessoas de sair de casa ou que causa tragédias nas estradas, não. Aquela neve suave, que forra as calçadas e ruas de tantas cidades, de tantos países.

Oh, how I love Winter .... if I had snow like up there, there would be a perfect winter!

Not that snow that prevents people from leaving home or causing tragedies on the roads, no, but that soft snow that lines the sidewalks and streets of many cities in many countries.

Por que gosto de Inverno e de neve? Porque já morei onde tinha neve quando criança, e minhas lembranças são as melhores: fazer bolas e brincar de jogar com as outras crianças, sentar num pedaço de madeira e deslizar rua abaixo, tomar chocolate quente, esquentar pés e mãos quase congelados na lareira, tomar sopa bem quente......muitas lembranças boas.



No Hemisfério Norte o Inverno também trás o Natal, outra época que gosto bastante.



Aqui no Brasil temos a Região Sul do país que pode ser bem gelada nesta época do ano e onde temos um pouco de geada em algumas cidades. A paisagem fica linda!



Saudades da neve.



Bom, o jeito é imaginar que estou num país bem frio....

Aqui está o livro pronto: mede 21cm x 29cm, tem 120 folhas (240 páginas) de papel offset 120g/m² e pesa aproximadamente 1,8 quilos.

Here is the finished book: measures 21cm 29cm, has 120 sheets (240 pages) of offset paper 120g / m², and weighs approximately 1.8 pounds.

A parte de trás e a lombada são em courino com uma costura cruzada como detalhe; a tarja que fecha o livro é presa na lombada com uma costura cruzada também.

The back cover and spine are in courino with a cross stitch as detail, the stripe which closes the book is secured on the spine with a cross-seam as well.

A capa frontal é em tecido holandês preto, especial para encadernação, e também fiz uma costura cruzada para unir o tecido ao courino.

The front cover is in Dutch black special fabric for binding, and I also did a cross stitch to attach the fabric to the courino.

O fechamento é com um tipo de fivela presa numa tarja que é ajustável, então se o dono do livro quiser colocar alguns papéis dentro dele poderá ajustar a tarja para caber mais volume.

The closure is a type of buckle fastened in  stripe and adjustable, so if the owner of the book wants to put some paper in it, he can adjust the stripe to fit a new volume.

São 2 marcadores de página: um em fita de gorgurão preta e outro em cadarço preto e lilás entrelaçados. 

Os 2 marcadores tem pingentes de coruja e Pentagrama.

There are two bookmarks: one in black grosgrain ribbon  and the other in black and lilac entwined laces.



The markers have two pendants: an owl and a Pentagram.

Na lombada coloquei um detalhe em courino, com tacha em metal.

There is also a detail in courino with metal tack on the spine.

This time I will write firstly in English, and then put the translation. My post is for foreigners who are seeing the events that are happening in Brazil, but do not know the reasons.

There is a crisis here. In several cities, people are going to the streets to campaign against the increase of public transportation cost which is too expensive and too far from ideal.

But the reasons are not only that, are many: public health is a mess, education is of poor quality, the teachers are underpaid, urban violence is astronomical because the laws exist but are lenient with criminals, the government is stuffed with corruption cases, super billed public works ..... and many other reasons.

Actually we have nothing against the World Cup be made in Brazil, since we did not have the serious problems we have.

The population is being treated with severe violence from the police and the traditional  brasilian media does not cover this violence and misrepresents the true reasons.

In fact, the pictures say a lot.

Desta vez vou escrever em primeiro lugar no Inglês, e em seguida, colocar a tradução. Meu post é para os estrangeiros que estão vendo os eventos que estão acontecendo no Brasil, mas não sabem os motivos.

Há uma crise aqui. Em várias cidades, as pessoas estão indo às ruas para fazer campanha contra o aumento de custo do transporte público que é muito caro e muito longe do ideal.

Mas as razões não são só essa, são muitas: a saúde pública é uma bagunça, o ensino é de má qualidade, os professores são mal remunerados, a violência urbana é astronômica porque existem as leis mas são condescendentes com os criminosos, o governo está cheio de casos de corrupção,  obras públicas super-faturadas..... e muitas outras razões.

Na verdade, não temos nada contra a Copa do Mundo ser feita no Brasil, mas desde que   não tivéssemos  os graves problemas que temos.

A população está sendo tratada com violência por parte da polícia e a mídia tradicional brasileira não cobre essa violência e deturpa os verdadeiros motivos.

Na verdade, as imagens dizem muito.

Começou a chover, era fim de Setembro...e na última volta pela cidade fui novamente ao Louvre, o mais completo museu do mundo.

E de frente para o Louvre fiz um pedido: que esta não fosse a última foto.

No dia seguinte fui embora de Paris. Peguei o trem da Eurostar que liga Paris a Londres.
