Finalmente entramos no Palácio de Kensington, palco de muitas histórias da realeza britânica.  Em suas salas podemos ver as roupas usadas em várias épocas, os móveis, tapetes, objetos, quadros...são muitos detalhes e informações que nos dão uma ideia de como era a vida no tempo passado.

Finally we've entered in Kensington Palace, scene of many stories of British royalty. In its rooms we can see the clothes worn at various times, the furniture, rugs, objects, paintings ... there are many details and information to give us an idea of what life was like in the past tense.

Além de ser a atual residência do Príncipe William e família, o Palácio de Kensington também é conhecido por causa de Vitoria, filha do príncipe Eduardo Augusto, Duque de Kent, que morou lá com sua mãe até subir ao trono como Rainha Vitória do Reino Unido. Depois da coroação, Vitoria mudou-se para o Palácio de Buckingham.

Besides being the current residence of Prince William and his family, Kensington Palace is also known because of Vitoria, the daughter of Prince Edward Augustus, Duke of Kent, who lived there with his mother until crowned as Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom . After the coronation, Victoria moved into Buckingham Palace.

A história da Rainha Vitória é bem interessante; ela casou-se com o  príncipe Alberto de Saxe-Coburgo-Gota, em 1840. O casal teve nove filhos e vinte e seis dos seus quarenta e dois netos casaram-se com outros membros de famílias nobres por toda a europa, e Vitória ficou conhecida como  "a avó da Europa". 

The story of Queen Victoria is very interesting, she married Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, in 1840. The couple had nine children and twenty-six of his forty-two grandchildren intermarried with other members of noble families throughout Europe, and Victoria was known as "the grandmother of Europe".

Mas o que me chamou mais a atenção foi seu luto profundo após a morte do marido. Vitoria mostrava todo seu amor através de monumentos como o Royal Albert Hall e o Albert Memorial, que eram  homenagens ao príncipe Albert.



Uma vez ela disse: "Minha vida de felicidade acabou. O mundo acabou pra mim".



But what caught my attention most was her deep mourning after the death of her husband. Vitoria showed all his love through landmarks such as the Royal Albert Hall and Albert Memorial, which were homages to Prince Albert.

Once she had said: "My life as a happy one has ended. The world is gone for me".

Vitoria reinou por 63 anos e 7 meses sendo o reinado mais longo do Reino Unido até o momento.

Victoria reigned for 63 years and 7 months being the longest reign in the UK until this moment.
