FELIZ 2018!!

A coisa mais importante que aconteceu este ano no estúdio foi o crescimento do canal no YouTube e o aumento das visitas no blog, então agradeço a cada um de vocês que veio aqui, que se inscreveu lá no Youtube, que mandou comentário, que se inscreveu no Facebook, enfim, que participou de alguma forma desse crescimento: Muito obrigada!



A vida com Arte é muito melhor, sem dúvida alguma. Quando temos uma vida feliz ela a torna completa. Quando nossa vida está passando por momentos  complicados, ela nos dá suavidade pra prosseguir, nos alivia com sua beleza. 



Mesmo que você diga: "Mas Cris, eu não sei desenhar nem pintar." Então eu respondo: "Mas pode gostar, pode aprender, pode soltar a imaginação sobre um papel e pode ser feliz fazendo isso."



Ás pessoas "mais tímidas" na Arte e a você que esteve aqui neste ano, convido pra continuarmos juntos em 2018 com cada vez mais Arte, mais amizade, mais união, mais rostos sorrindo e mais risadas! Sim, vamos fazer do nosso canal no Youtube e deste  blog,um refúgio da Arte onde a gente possa vir sempre e saber que aqui, no Estúdio Brigit, é o nosso espaço mágico!



Em 2018, além de continuar com os vídeos no YouTube, vou dar uma grande ênfase aos posts aqui no blog porque um blog é um arquivo vivo, uma preciosa fonte de consulta sempre que precisamos fazer uma pesquisa e quero incentivar isso: que o blog seja quase uma "mania", um "vício" de leitura, e aaahhh, que ótimo vício e quero você aqui comigo!


Que seu ano seja tudo que você espera dele, que você realize seus sonhos, tenha saúde e prosperidade!


E, claro, muita Arte em 2018!!

Agora vamos falar das FÉRIAS!



Como já anunciei algumas vezes, dia 20 de dezembro o estúdio entrou em férias e volta após o Carnaval, na verdade, em Março.


Mas parece muito tempo, não?? Pra resolver isso, vamos fazer assim:


- de 20 de dezembro até 31 de janeiro:  férias mesmo, sem vídeos nem posts e tenho certeza que você vai aproveitar essa pausa pra rever postagens aqui no blog e vídeos meus lá no Youtube.


- em Fevereiro: um vídeo todas as quartas-feiras e post sobre cada vídeo ás quintas-feiras.


 Em março volto com a programação normal:


* post no blog ás segundas-feiras, normalmente de viagem, com alguns sketchs;

* vídeo ás terças e quintas-feiras;

* post referente aos vídeos, nas quartas e sextas-feiras;

* de vez em quando vídeos ás segundas, quartas ou sextas-feiras mostrando livros artesanais.


Quem também estiver de férias, aproveite!


Quem estiver trabalhando, trabalhe com tudo, seja bom no que você faz porque isso só faz com que você cresça cada vez mais!

The most important thing that happened this year with the studio was the growth of the channel on YouTube and the increase of visits to the blog, so I thank each one of you who came here, who subscribed up there on Youtube, who commented, who signed up on Facebook, anyway, who participated in some form of this growth: Thank you!



Life with Art is much better, without a doubt. When we have a happy life it makes it complete. When our life is going through complicated moments, it gives us the gentleness to go on, it relieves us with its beauty.



Even if you say, "But Cris, I do not know how to draw or paint." So I reply, "But you can like it, you can learn it, you can let your imagination go down on paper and you can be happy doing it."



To the "shyest" people in Art and to you who were here this year, I invite you to continue together with me in 2018 with more and more Art, more friendship, more unity, more faces smiling and more laughter! Yes, let's make our channel on Youtube and this blog, an art refuge where we can always come and know that here, in Estúdio Brigit, is our magic space!

As I have already announced a few times, on December 20 the studio went on vacation and comes back after the Carnival, in fact, in March.



But it seems like a long time, doesn't it ?? To solve this, let's do this:



- from December 20th until January 31st: time to rest, without videos or posts and I'm sure you'll enjoy this break to review posts here on my blog and videos on my Youtube channel.



- in February: a video every Wednesday and the post about each video on Thursdays.



 In March I return with the normal schedule, which is:



* blog post on Mondays, usually about a trip, with some sketches;

* video on Tuesdays and Thursdays;

* post about the videos, on Wednesdays and Fridays;

* from time to time videos on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays showing handmade books.



Anyone who is also on vacation, enjoy!



Whoever is working, work with joy, be good at what you do because it only makes you grow more and more!

FELIZ NATAL 2017!! (MERRY CHRISTMAS 2017 !!) - VIDEO

FELIZ NATAL!!

E chegamos praticamente ao fim de 2017: hora de festejar o Natal com tudo que ele tem de bom: família, amigos, luzes.....eu desejo a você muito Amor e Paz hoje e sempre!



E pra festejar, acho que um pouco mais de Arte só vai fazer bem, né?



O estúdio já está de férias então semana que vem teremos apenas mais um post referente ao Ano Novo e depois: Férias!!



Ah, mas calma, eu não consigo ficar muito tempo longe então no post de semana que vem eu explico direitinho como serão essas férias e quando o estúdio volta á ação, mas agora, vamos a mais um pouco de Arte!



Usei um envelope feito com papel para aquarela, 250g/m², pincel redondo pequeno, pincel língua de gato nº10 e aquarela nas cores Quinacridone Rose, Gamboge, Olive Green, Leaf Green. Finalizei com um pouco de Medium Iridiscente.

And we arrived practically at the end of 2017: time to celebrate Christmas with all the good this day has: family, friends, lights ..... I wish you much Love and Peace today and always!



And to celebrate, I think a little more Art will do just fine, right?



The studio is already on vacation so next week we will have just another post referring to the New Year and then: Holidays !!



Ah, but calm down, I can not stay too long, so next week's post I'll explain exactly what the holidays will be like and when the studio is going to come back to action, but now, let's go to some more Art!



I used an envelope made with watercolor paper, 250g / m², a small round brush,  cat tongue brush nº10, and the watercolors: Quinacridone Rose, Gamboge, Olive Green, Leaf Green. Finally I finished with a touch of Iridescent Medium.

Há poucos dias mostrei como faço uma Poinsetia - A Flor do natal - com a técnica da "pintura negativa", você pode ver o vídeo aqui: https://youtu.be/QetJDLyFV8s

Nessa técnica o motivo principal da pintura vai aparecendo, sendo construído como se fosse "de fora pra dentro", é bem interessante pintar assim.

E hoje venho mostrar como faço uma Poinsetia "normal": fiz o desenho e aquarelei, pintei o fundo e pronto.

Uma das coisas que gosto no Natal é dessa flor, linda, vermelha, aberta. Ele pode ser cultivada o ano inteiro mas no Natal é especial, parece um dos símbolos natalinos porque quando olho pra ele imediatamente me vem á cabeça de que é Natal, não importa a época do ano!

In this technique the main motif of the painting  appears slowly, being constructed as if it were "from outside to inside", it is very interesting to paint like this.

And today I am here to show how I paint a "normal" Poinsetia: I did the drawing and watercolored it, painted the background and voilà!

One of the things I like about Christmas is this flower, beautiful, red, open. It can be grown year-round but on Christmas it is special, it seems like one of the Christmas' symbols because when I look at it immediately  comes to my mind that it's Christmas no matter what time of the year  is!

Vamos ver o material que usei, e as cores:

- base de madeira (pode ser de papelão também, ou diretamente em uma mesa);

- papel Markatto branco 250g/m²;

- fita crepe;

- lápis e borracha;

- pincel chato da Vinci nº 18;

- pincel redondo Raphael nº12;

- pincel redondo Winsor&Newton nº3;

- aquarela Winsor&Newton: Quinacridone Rose, Madder Lake Deep, Gamboge, Azo Yellow, Phtalo Green e Payne's Gray.

Let's see the material I used, and the colors:

- wooden base (can be cardboard too, or directly on a table);

- white Markatto paper 250g / m²;

-  tape;

- pencil and eraser;

- da Vinci flat brush nº 18;

- round brush Raphael nº12;

- Winsor & Newton round brush # 3;

- Winsor & Newton watercolors: Quinacridone Rose, Gamboge, Azo Yellow, Phtlato Green  and Payne's Gray.

Biscoitinhos de Natal - Gingerman - VIDEO

Natal além de ser uma época linda também é a época das coisas gostosas e estes biscoitos de gengibre são divinos, tem cheiro de Natal!

A massa é simples, e se você não tiver cortadores de metal use a corda de um copo pra fazer biscoitos redondos, ou até uma faca pra fazer biscoitos em tiras, mas estes cortadores são um charme!

Eu não costumo enfeitar os meus com glacê, mas quem quiser pode fazer porque ficam lindos!

Besides being a beautiful time Christmas is also the time of the delicious things and these gingerbread cookies are divine, they smell of Christmas!

The dough is simple, and if you do not have metal cutters use the edge of a glass to make round biscuits, or even a knife to make biscuits in strips, but these cutters are a charm!

I do not usually spruce mine with frosting, but whoever wants just do it, they look beautiful!

Usei colheres e xícaras padronizadas, vamos á receita:

- 3 xícaras de farinha de trigo;

- 1 1/2 colher de chá de fermento (para bolo) em pó;

- 1 colher de chá de bicarbonato;

- 1 pitada de sal;

- 1 colher de sopa de gengibre em pó;

- 1 1/2 colher de chá de canela em pó;

- 1/2 colher de chá de cravo em pó;

- 6 colheres de sopa de manteiga sem sal;

- 3/4 de xícara de açúcar mascavo;

- 1 ovo grande;

- 1/2 xícara de melaço;

- 2 colheres de chá de baunilha;

- 1 colher de chá de casca de limão ralada.

I used standard spoons and cups, let's see the recipe:

- 3 cups of wheat flour;

- 1 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder (for cakes);

- 1 teaspoon of baking soda;

- 1 pinch of salt;

- 1 tablespoon of ginger powder;

- 1 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon;

- 1/2 teaspoon of clove powder;

- 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter;

- 3/4 cup of brown sugar;

- 1 large egg;

- 1/2 cup of molasses;

- 2 teaspoons of vanilla;

- 1 teaspoon of lemon zest.

Modo de fazer: (veja o vídeo abaixo)

Peneire junto, misturando bem, a farinha, o fermento, o bicarbonato, o sal, o gengibre, a canela e o cravo.

Á parte, na batedeira bata a manteiga com o açúcar mascavo e o ovo em velocidade média até misturar bem.

Adicione o melaço, a baunilha e as raspas de limão e continue batendo até ficar homogêneo.

Aos poucos acrescente os ingredientes secos e misture bem até ficar uma massa suave.

 Divida a massa em duas porções iguais e enrole cada uma em plástico culinário. Deixe descansar em temperatura ambiente de 2 a no máximo 8 horas.

Pré aqueça o forno em 180ºC. Coloque uma porção de massa sobre superfície enfarinhada e estique a massa com o rolo (de macarrão) ou com o auxílio de uma garrafa; não deixe a massa fina demais, nem grossa demais. 

Com cortadores de metal vá fazendo os biscoitos e colocando em uma assadeira (não precisa untar).

Leve ao forno por 7 a 10 minutos, e assim que estiverem prontos retire os biscoitos da assadeira e ponha sobre grelha para esfriar. Após completamente frios, coloque-os em vidros e tampe bem!

Delícia!

How to: (see video below)

Sift together, mixing well, flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon and clove.

In the mixer beat the butter with the brown sugar and the egg in medium speed until well blended.

Add the molasses, the vanilla and the lemon zest and continue beating until smooth.

Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix well until smooth.

 Divide the dough into two equal portions and wrap each one into culinary plastic. Let they stand at room temperature for 2 to 8 hours at most.

Preheat the oven to 180ºC. Put a portion of dough on floured surface and strain the dough with the roll (of pasta) or with the aid of a bottle; do not leave the dough too thin, nor too thick.

With metal cutters go make the cookies and put them in a baking dish (do not need to sprinkle).

Bake for 7 to 10 minutes, and as soon as they are ready remove the cookies from the baking sheet and place them on a rack to cool. After completely cold, put them in jars with lids.

Delicious!

A Viagem (160): Doune Castle & Outlander

Doune Castle, é o verdadeiro nome do castelo que aparece na série Outlander, filmada na Escócia, e que conta a vida de um casal diferente: ela, Claire,  fez uma viagem no tempo e retornando ao passado conheceu Jamie, casou-se com ele, teve uma filha ....... mas não vou contar mais, veja a série porque é fascinante, principalmente pra quem gosta de história, de época medieval e da Escócia!

O nome fictício desse castelo na série televisiva é Leoch Castle, e além de Outlander, também foram gravados ali cenas de Monty Python and the Holy Grail e Game of Thrones.

Claro que parei pra desenhar mas pintei depois, já em casa, em Edinburgh. 

Doune Castle is the actual name of the castle that appears in the series Outlander, filmed in Scotland, and tells the life of a different couple: she, Claire, made a trip back in time and returned to the past, met Jamie, married him , had a daughter ....... but I will not tell more, watch the series because it is fascinating, especially for those who like history, medieval times and Scotland!

The fictitious name of this castle in the television series is Leoch Castle, and in addition to Outlander,  scenes of Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Game of Thrones were recorded there.

Of course I stopped to sketch but finished the painting later, at home in Edinburgh.

O castelo foi construido no século 13 pelo Duque de Albany,  terceiro filho do rei Robert II da Escócia.  Seu irmão era o rei da Escócia mas devido a complicações  por causa de uma queda de cavalo o reino passou para as mãos de um regente e o duque passou a ser o comandante do reino. Não se tornou rei porque morreu antes do irmão, e assim o rei passou a ser seu filho que foi morto pouco tempo depois.  Quem passou a ser o rei foi James I, que tornou-se James I da Inglaterra e VI da Escócia e com a mudança do reinado para Londres, o castelo de Doune perdeu o status de castelo real.

The castle was built in the 13th century by the Duke of Albany, the third son of King Robert II of Scotland. His brother was the king of Scotland but due to complications after a fall of a horse the kingdom passed into the hands of a regent and the duke happened to be the commander of the kingdom. He did not become king because he died before his brother, and so the king became his son who was killed shortly after. Who became the king was James I, who became James I of England and VI of Scotland and with the change of the reign to London, Doune castle lost the status of royal castle.

Passeei bastante tanto fora quanto dentro do castelo fui em todos os cômodos onde era permitido entrar, sentei em todas as cadeiras e bancos, tirei centenas de fotos. É um castelo pequeno, um pouco em ruínas, mas encantador, eu viveria muito bem nele!

I spent quite as much time outside as inside the castle: I went into all the rooms where I was allowed to enter, I sat on all the chairs and benches, I took hundreds of photos. It is a small castle, a little ruined, but charming, I would live very well in it!

A temperatura dentro dele era fria, quase congelante. Pequeno e feito de pedras acho que o frio fica ainda mais intenso. 

Ah, e as portas! Tenho uma fascinação por portas mas não encontrei muitas, e eram simples, sem muitos adornos nem entalhes.

The temperature inside it was cold, almost freezing. Small and made of stones I think the cold gets even more intense.

Oh, and the doors! I have a fascination for doors but I did not find many, and they were simple, without much adornment or notches.

As escadas que levam para os quartos são bem estreitas, as salas são pequenas mas os quartos são minúsculos. Fico pensando como as pessoas daquela época, principalmente na Escócia já que os homens eram grandes, faziam pra dormir em locais tão apertados. Outros tempos.



Foi um ótimo passeio, ainda mais porque me colocou na época medieval....minha imaginação me fez ficar em meio a reis, rainhas, música escocesa, dança, comidas fumegantes...e guerras de clãs!



Amei!

The stairs leading to the rooms are quite narrow, the rooms are small but the bedrooms are tiny. I wonder how the people of that time, especially in Scotland since the men were big, made to sleep in places so tight. Other times.



It was a great tour, even more so  because it put me in medieval times .... my imagination made me stand in the middle of kings, queens, scottish music, dancing, steaming food ... and clan wars!

A Flor do Natal - Aquarela #17 (The Flower of Christmas - Watercolor # 17) - VIDEO

A Flor do Natal, vermelha, linda, que enfeita as casas, jardins, lojas, ruas de todo o mundo! Vamos desenhar e aquarelar uma? Com margem branca em toda a volta fica pronta pra enquadrar!

O material que usei: 

- base de madeira (pode ser de papelão também, ou diretamente em uma mesa);

- papel Markatto branco 250g/m²;

- fita crepe;

- lápis e borracha;

- pincel chato da Vinci nº 18;

- pincel redondo Raphael nº12;

- pincel redondo Winsor&Newton nº3;

- aquarela Winsor&Newton: Quinacridone Rose, Gamboge, Turqouise, Azo Yellow, Dioxazine Purple e Payne's Gray. 

Depois de fazer o desenho e prender a folha na minha base de madeira, cuidei pra que a margem branca em toda a volta permitisse que algumas folhas a ultrapassassem porque isso ia dar um efeito muito interessante depois da pintura pronta. 

Em seguida, umedeci a folha toda com água, fiz uma base com Quinacridone Rose, Gamboge e Turqouise mas sem mistura-las, deixando que uma cor entrasse na outra pelo movimento natural da água sobre o papel.

The Christmas Flower, red, beautiful, that adorns the houses, gardens, shops, streets of the whole world! Let's draw and watercolor one? With white border all around it is ready to frame!

The material I used:

- wooden base (can be cardboard too, or directly on a table);

- white Markatto paper 250g / m²;

-  tape;

- pencil and eraser;

- da Vinci flat brush nº 18;

- round brush Raphael nº12;

- Winsor & Newton round brush # 3;

- Winsor & Newton watercolors: Quinacridone Rose, Gamboge, Turqouise, Azo Yellow, Dioxazine Purple and Payne's Gray.

After making the drawing and taping the paper to my wooden base, I took care that the white border  allowed some leaves to overtake it because this was going to have a very interesting effect after the finished painting.

Then I moistened the whole paper with water, made a base with Quinacridone Rose, Gamboge and Turqouise but without mixing them, letting one color enter the other by the natural movement of the water on the paper.

A partir daí, fui construindo as flores e folhas, com camadas claras, numa técnica que chamamos "negativa", ou seja, fui acrescentando cores em volta das flores e folhas pra que elas sobressaíssem, sem propriamente pinta-las. Com ajuda do Dioxazine Purple no fundo consegui realçar bastante e fazer o efeito negativo.

From then on I  build flowers and leaves, with clear layers, in the technique that we call "negative", that is, colors were added around the flowers and leaves so that they pop out, without properly painting them. With the help of the Purple Dioxazine in the background I was able to highlight a lot and make the negative effect.

Depois, com Quinacridone Rose fui construindo as pétalas, com camadas, e acrescentei um pouco de Azo Yellow em algumas partes. Aproveitei também algumas partes do papel que ficaram brancas desde o começo, mantendo-as brancas para dar luminosidade.

As folhas formaram-se com a mistura natural do Azo Yellow e do Turqouise, então apenas realcei algumas partes acrescentando mais dessas cores e até um pouco de Dioxazine Purple.

Then with Quinacridone Rose I built the petals, with layers, and added a bit of Azo Yellow in some parts. I also took some parts of the paper that had gone white from the beginning, keeping them white for light.

The leaves formed with the natural blend of Azo Yellow and Turqouise, so I just highlighted some parts by adding more of these colors and even a little of Dioxazine Purple.

Por fim, retirei a fita com cuidado e voilà: uma margem branca em toda volta mas com algumas pétalas e folhas ultrapassando essa margem.

Ás vezes fico na dúvida quanto à posição de uma pintura. Vejo que ela fica bem em qualquer direção que seja virada então deixo pra decidir na hora de enquadrar.

Natal é assim, me inspira ao extremo e solto a mão.......

Finally, I removed the tape carefully and voilà: a white border all around but with some petals and leaves on it.

Sometimes I doubt the position of a painting. I see that it looks good in any direction that is turned so I leave it to decide later.

Christmas is like this, inspires me to the extreme and so I let go of the hand .......
