Hoje é dia de visitar o castelo Stirling, na cidade de mesmo nome, que é um dos maiores e mais importantes castelos da Escócia, tanto por sua importância na História quanto por sua belíssima arquitetura cujas principais construções datam os séculos XV e XVII.

Antes da união com a Inglaterra, o Stirling Castle abrigava a realeza escocesa onde alguns reis e arinhas nasceram, reinaram e também morreram. Sua localização geográfica fazia dele uma fortaleza daí a preferência dos soberanos em fixar residência nele.

Today is the day of visiting Stirling Castle, in the town of the same name, which is one of the largest and most important castles in Scotland, both for its importance in history and for its beautiful architecture which main buildings date back to the 15th and 17th centuries.

Before the union with England, Stirling Castle was home to Scottish royalty where some kings and queens were born, reigned and also died. Its geographical location made it a fortress hence the preference of the sovereigns to fix residence in him.

Diferentemente do castelo de Edimburgo, no Stirling há salas enormes, com pé direito alto mas muitas foram reformadas e na verdade ficaram "modernas" demais para os turistas que vão buscar ambientes medievais.

Unlike Edinburgh Castle, in Stirling castle there are huge rooms with high ceilings but many have been renovated and in fact have become "too modern" for tourists looking for medieval surroundings.

Essas reformas também incluíram novas pinturas, novas madeiras que, na minha opinião, poderiam ser envelhecidas artisticamente pra manter o ambiente o mais fiel possível aos tempos antigos.

These reforms also included new paintings, new woods that, in my opinion, could be artistically aged to keep the environment as faithful as possible to ancient times.
