Vamos passear um pouco no Rio de Janeiro? O Parque Lage é uma ótima opção de lazer pra toda a família e também pra quem gosta de desenhar e pintar.

Nele há a Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage, que pensei que tivesse alguma ligação com a UFRJ (Universidade federal do Rio de Janeiro) mas pelo que li nas informações não existe essa ligação.

Não é permitida a entrada de veículos, então o jeito foi ir a pé desde os portões enormes até o palacete e depois andar um pouco pelo parque. Cheguei cedo, umas 9h da manhã, os portões estavam abertos mas o palacete onde há a escola de artes ainda estava fechado.

Let's go for a walk in Rio de Janeiro? The Parque Lage is a great leisure option for the whole family and also for those who like to draw and paint.

In it there is the Visual Arts School of Parque Lage, which I thought had some connection with UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro) but from what I read in the information there is no such connection.

Vehicles are not allowed, so I had to walk from the huge gates to the small palace and then walk a bit through the park. I arrived early, about 9 a.m. in the morning, the gates were open but the small palace (where  the arts school takes place) was still closed.

Aqui também é local para exposições  e até pra um bom café da manhã e almoço, por isso passar o dia aqui é uma escolha fácil de ser feita.

Here is also an exhibition venue and even a good breakfast and lunch, so spending the day here is an easy choice to make.

 O palacete é antigo, funcionava como engenho de cana de açúcar até que em 1811, Rodrigo de Freitas Mello e Castro comprou o local e começa a história do que conhecemos hoje como Parque Lage.

The palace is old, it worked as a sugar cane mill until in 1811, Rodrigo de Freitas Mello e Castro bought the place and begins the history of what we know today as Parque Lage.

Meu horário estava apertado: ás 11h30min tinha que ir embora.

Então andei um pouco pelo lugar, visitei a pequena loja de materiais artísticos que há lá dentro, fiz alguns sketches, tirei fotos, filmei e tomei um bom café!

My schedule was tight: at 11:30 a.m. had to leave.

So I walked around the place, visited the little art store inside it, made some sketches, took pictures, filmed and had a good coffee!
