CORTADOR CANTONEIRA #1: Cortando Cantos e Retas (CORNER CUTTER # 1: Cutting Corners and Straights) - VÍDEO

Cortadores são ferramentas muito úteis e que nos ajudam a elevar nossa arte ao próximo nível, mas ter um cortador específico para cantos, outro para retas e outro para círculos pode sair bem caro!



Além disso nem sempre achamos os mesmos desenhos de corte, e gostamos de tudo combinando, né?

Cutters are very useful tools that help us raise our art to the next level, but having a specific cutter for corners, another for straight and another one  for circles can be very expensive!

Besides, we do not always find the same cut designs, and we like them all, don't we?

Mas com o cortador cantoneira podemos ter as 3 funções de corte, é o famoso 3 em 1.

But with the corner cutter we can have the 3 cutting functions, it's the famous 3 in 1.

Usa-lo com cantoneira é fácil e a condição básica é que o canto do papel tenha 90º para que encaixe perfeitamente no cortador.

Using it as  a corner is easy and the basic condition is that the edge of the paper is 90º so that it fits perfectly in the cutter.

Quando abrimos a pequena porta na parte de baixo do cortador podemos ver como o papel fica encaixado e como o corte é feito.

When we open the small door at the bottom of the cutter we can see how the paper is seated and how the cut is made.

Para cortarmos em linha reta, precisamos remover a parte do cortador onde se encaixa o papel quando queremos cortar o canto, assim ele passa a ser um cortador comum, desabilitamos a parte de cortar os cantos com essa remoção.

To cut straight, we need to remove the part of the cutter where the paper fits when we want to cut the corner, so it becomes a common cutter, we disable the part of cutting the corners with that removal.

 Dessa maneira podemos posicionar corretamente o cortador ao lado do corte que já fizemos, precisamos dessa referência, e assim vamos fazendo os cortes, um ao lado do outro, na distância que quisermos.

In this way we can correctly position the cutter next to the cut that we have already done, we need this reference, and so we make the cuts, side by side, in whatever distance we want.

Pra que a distância entre um corte e outro seja a mesma podemos observar algum detalhe  que servirá como chave de posicionamento até o fim do papel. No caso, o meu cortador é colocado de forma a deixar um pequeno círculo vazado entre um corte e outro, essa é a minha chave! 

For the distance between one cut and another is the same we can see some detail that will serve as a positioning key until the end of the paper. In my case, my cutter is placed so as to leave a small circle leaked between one cut and another, this is my key!

E assim temos um corte reto, feito com um cortador cantoneira!

And so we have a straight cut, made with a corner cutter!

Quando usamos um cortador reto, observamos que acima da ferramenta há um desenho que nos diz o tamanho do corte. Você pode medir esse desenho e calcular o tamanho do seu papel para que seja múltiplo dessa medida, e dessa forma quando você acabar de cortar o papel inteiro não haverão cortes pela metade, tudo ficará perfeito. When we use a straight cutter, we notice that above the tool there is a drawing that tells us the size of the cut. We can measure this drawing and calculate the size of our paper so that it is multiple of that measurement, so that when we finish cutting the entire paper there will be no cuts in half, everything will be perfect. (See the video to understand better).

Na parte de baixo do cortador também há a indicação, através de uma imagem,  de onde posicionar o papel, e conforme vamos cortando vamos encaixando o papel nessa imagem (ou desenho) para termos o corte perfeito no fim do trabalho.

At the bottom of the cutter there is also the indication, through an image, of where to position the paper, and as we are cutting we will fit the paper in this image (or drawing) to have the perfect cut at the end of the work.

É preciso treinar um pouco, pra pegar o jeito, mas o resultado é ótimo!

You have to train a little, to get the hang of it, but the result is great!

E assim, com um cortador cantoneira podemos fazer vários enfeites!

And so, with a corner cutter we can make various embellishments!

ATC (Artist Trading Cards) O que é isso? (What is it?) - VÌDEO

ATC (Artist Trading Cards) são pequenos cartões artísticos que qualquer pessoa pode fazer usando qualquer técnica, e trocar com gente do mundo todo!! 



Falando em trocas, temos um grupo no Facebook para fazer essas trocas, vem trocar!

O grupo é para todos que queiram fazer essa arte, inclusive para pessoas fora do Brasil, então vem!

Tudo começou com o artista suíço Stirnman, em 1996, quando ele teve a ideia de fazer arte em pequenos cartões de 2,5" x 3,5" (4,6cm x 8,9cm) e trocar com pessoas. Ele queria que todos pudessem fazer arte e divulga-la gratuitamente através da troca desses cartões.



Então em 1997 ele fez uma exposição onde apresentou 1200 cartões, feitos por ele mesmo! A maior parte desses cartões foi dada ao público como incentivo e apresentação da ideia, e alguns poucos cartões foram trocados com amigos que já sabiam da ideia e gostaram.



E assim aconteceu, as trocas foram acontecendo e atualmente milhares de pessoas trocam essas pequenas obras de arte pelo mundo todo, remetidas por Correio.



A única regra é quanto ao tamanho do cartão, que deve ser com as medidas acima.



Pode-se fazer qualquer tipo de arte nesses cartões: desenho, aquarela, pintura acrílica, colagem decoupage, mixed media art....... e assim vemos como pessoas de culturas diferentes interpretam e sentem a Arte.



Também aprendemos bastante a usar materiais e a aproveitar materiais que tecnicamente nem são artísticos (quando fazemos mixed media art), lidamos com o improviso quando dá errado, melhoramos nossa concentração, conhecemos outras pessoas, enfim, uma terapia num pequeno pedaço de papel.



Amei a ideia, eu já conhecia e apesar de não ter tempo pra fazer mais alguma coisa relacionada á arte achei que poderia dispor de uns minutos pra fazer arte em um cartão, afinal, é um cartão bem pequeno.



No vídeo abaixo mostro como fiz estes cartões, fácil de entender.

Usei papel branco 120g/m², papel metalizado azul 180g/m², tinta acrílica, guilhotina, cortador manual de floco de neve, gesso acrílico branco, pedaço de caixa de cereal, tesoura, cola pra decoupage, carimbeira Archival Ink Aquamarine, espuma,  glicerina líquida, pó para emboss transparente, aquecedor para emboss, carimbo florido, placa de acrílico, cristais pequenos, carimbo de bandeirola, fita banana, caneta Gel branca, caneta metálica azul da Sakura.

It all started with a Swiss artist called  Stirnman, in 1996, when he had the idea of ​​making art on small 2.5 "x 3.5" (4.6cm x 8.9cm) cards and exchange them with people. He wanted everyone to be able to make art and spread it for free by exchanging those cards.

You can make any type of art on these cards: drawing, watercolor, acrylic painting, decoupage collage, mixed media art ....... and thus we see how people of different cultures interpret and feel the Art.

We also learn a great deal of material and take advantage of materials that are not technically artistic (when we do mixed media art), we deal with improvisation when it goes wrong, we improve our concentration, we meet other people, it is a therapy on a small piece of paper.

I loved the idea, I already knew it and although I do not have time to do anything else related to art I thought I could have some few minutes to make art on a card, after all, it's a very small card.

In the video above I show how I made these cards, easy to understand.

I used white paper 120g / m², 180g / m² blue metallic paper, acrylic paint, guillotine, manual snowflake cutter, white acrylic plaster, cereal box piece, scissors, decoupage glue, Archival Ink Aquamarine, foam, glycerine, transparent embossing powder, emboss heater, flowery stamp, acrylic plate, small crystals, flag stamp, banana ribbon, white gel pen, Sakura blue metallic pen.

Vou começar o post (e vídeo) de hoje mostrando meu estojo básico para desenho porque ultimamente tem sido uma pergunta frequente que tenho recebido tanto por direct messages quanto por email.

Outras perguntas foram feitas, sobre alguns materiais, então este post é uma mistura de assuntos.

I'm going to start the post (and video) today showing my basic case for drawing because lately it's been a frequent question that I have received both by direct messages and by email.

Other questions were asked about some materials, so this post is a mix of subjects.

Gosto de estojos onde os lápis fiquem bem fixos, sem o perigo de cair ou de bater uns nos outros, então meus estojos precisam ter presilhas ou espaços que façam essa função.

 I like cases where the pencils are well fixed, without the danger of falling or hitting each other, so my cases need to have clips or spaces that do this function.

Uso um pincel, que pode ser até pincel para maquiagem mas que seja macio, para limpar o desenho ou pintura. Nada de passar mão pra limpar!

I use a brush, which can be up a makeup brush, but I prefer it  soft, to clean the design or paint. Do not use the hands to clean up the drawings or paintings!

Também tenho lápis 6B, 5B, 4B, 3B com pontas feitas com estilete.

I also have 6B, 5B, 4B, 3B pencils with stylus tips.

Um esfuminho, que pode ser o nº 3 ou 4.

A blur, which can be # 3 or 4.

Como não coloco estilete no estojo uso uma lixa larga, que pode ser a lixa para unhas.

Também tenho uma pequena régua, que raramente uso.

As I do not have a stylus in the case, I use a wide sandpaper, which can be the nail file.

I also have a little ruler, which I rarely use.

Um lápis Nº2, HB, com mina de cera da Steadler, para fazer esboços.

 A  wax based # 2 HB pencil, Steadler, to make sketches.

Além do lápis também tenho uma lapiseira da Koh-i-noor com mina HB. Essa mina é mais seca que a do lápis da Steadler.

 In addition to the pencil I also have a Koh-i-noor pencil with HB lead. This lead is drier than the Steadler's pencil.

Uma caneta Mitsubishi Nº0, para os momentos em que resolvo contornar os desenhos ou pintar pequeníssimos detalhes em preto.

A Mitsubishi No. 0 pen, for the moments when I decide to go around the drawings or paint very small details in black.

Uma caneta gel branca, sem tinta, que uso para fazer vincos nos desenhos.

A white gel pen, without ink, that I use to make creases in the drawings.

Alguns lápis de cor brancos: cera, óleo e pastel.

Some white pencils: wax, oil and pastel.

E por último, alguns lápis Contè que uso para fazer esboços coloridos. 

And lastly, some pencils for colored sketches.

Ter um alongador para lápis pode ser bem necessário porque gosto de aproveitar os lápis até o fim, além disso, o alongador dá mais conforto para manusear o lápis, nos permite segura-lo em várias posições onde é preciso que o lápis seja mais comprido, mesmo que seja um lápis novo.

Having a pencil elongator may be quite necessary because I like to use the pencils to the end, in addition, the elongator gives more comfort to handle the pencil, allows us to hold it in various positions where the pencil needs to be longer, even if it's a new pencil.

Me perguntaram: "Cris, afinal, você usa Terebentina ou não? E em que momentos você acha interessante usa-la?" 



Uso Terebentina normalmente em superfícies grandes, quando quero dar uniformidade á pintura.

Também uso ocasionalmente em partes médias do meu desenho ou pintura, mas de modo geral gosto de trabalhar o lápis e gosto de ver o traço dele no resultado final por isso sou bem criteriosa no uso da Terebentina.

Em parte bem pequenas ou minúsculas da pintura raramente vejo necessidade de usa-la.

People asked me, "Cris, do you use Turpentine or not? And at what times do you think it's interesting to use it?"

I apply Turpentine normally on large surfaces, when I want to give uniformity to the painting.

I also occasionally use it on medium parts of my drawing or painting, but generally I like to work with the pencil and I like to see the trace of it in the final result so I am very careful in the use of Turpentine.

In small or tiny parts of the painting I rarely see the need to use it.

Finalmente vamos falar um pouco dos Lápis Metálicos!



Claro que precisamos de uma Cartela de Cores, pois é onde sabemos como as cores são sobre a superfície branca do papel.

Lápis Metálicos são bonitos, não são os meus preferidos, e na minha opinião tem que ser usados com parcimônia, sem exageros.

Já vi pinturas onde quase 100% do desenho foi pintado com lápis de cor metálico, resultando numa espécie de "alegoria carnavalesca" que incomoda  quem olha.



Se bem usados, são ótimos para realçar outras cores e para destacar pequenos detalhes em uma pintura.

Finally, let's talk a little about the Metallic Pencils!

Of course we need a Color Chart, because that's where we know how the colors are on the white surface of the paper.

Metallic pencils are beautiful though not my favorites, and in my opinion they have to be used sparingly, without exaggeration.

I have seen paintings where almost 100% of the drawing was painted with metallic colored pencils, resulting in a kind of "carnival allegory" that bothers those who look.

If well used, they are great for highlighting other colors and highlighting small details in a painting.

Podem ser mesclados entre si e aceitam bem o uso da Terebentina. 

Na foto abaixo vemos, respectivamente, uma gradação feita com lápis de cor metálico onde foi aplicado lápis branco, depois temos a gradação pura, depois gradação com blender e por último vemos a aplicação com Terebentina.



Todos os resultados são ótimos, cabendo a quem pinta escolher o melhor a ser usado na parte da pintura em que se está trabalhando.

They can be mixed together and accept the use of turpentine.

In the photo below we see, respectively, a gradation made with metallic colored pencils where white pencil was applied, then we have the pure metallic gradation, then gradation with blender and finally we see the application with Turpentine.

All the results are great, it is up to the artist to choose the best one to be used in the part of the painting they are working on.

TINTA ACRÍLICA SPRAY - DIY (ACRYLIC SPRAY INK) - VÍDEO

Spray de tinta acrílica, quem não conhece? 



Mesmo assim resolvi mostrar como faço os meus sprays de tinta acrílica porque ela tem uma excelente cobertura, pode ser usada para vários artesanatos e em Art Journal também. 



Veja que em spray é preciso diluí-las e isso afeta o poder de cobertura mas podemos regular a quantidade de água e de tinta, a nosso gosto.

 Spray of acrylic paint, who doesn't know how to make one?

Even so I decided to show how I make my sprays of acrylic paint because they have an excellent coverage, can be used for various crafts and in Art Journal as well.

It is necessary to dilute the acrylic paint and this affects the power of covering but we can regulate the amount of water and paint, as we wish.

Usei tintas acrílicas comuns, para artesanato, daquelas líquidas mesmo, e transformadas em spray consegui estes efeitos das fotos abaixo:

I used ordinary acrylic paints, for crafts,  those liquids ones, and while transformed into spray I got these effects from the photos below:

E o material é bem simples: frascos spray de preferência transparentes, água filtrada e tinta acrílica!

And the material is easy to find: spray bottles preferably transparent, filtered water and acrylic paint!

Tempos atrás mostrei como fazer spray de tinta de canetas hidrocor e até hoje as pessoas me perguntam que tipo de superfície pode ser pintada com elas e eu respondo: aquelas são apenas para arte em papel, e elas são bem suaves!

Para trabalhos onde você precise de uma cobertura mais intensa pode-se usar a tinta pura diretamente das embalagens ou usa-la como spray, como essas tintas acrílicas do vídeo. 

Some time ago I showed how to spray paint from pens and even people ask me what kind of surface can be painted with them and I answer: those are just for paper art as and they are very soft!

For art works where we need more intense coverage we can either use the pure ink directly from the packaging or use it as a spray, like these acrylic video inks.

Então vamos lá: Coloco tinta suficiente no frasco spray apenas pra cobrir o fundo e completo com água filtrada, agito bastante o frasco e pronto!

So let's go: I put enough paint into the spray bottle just to cover the bottom and complete with filtered water, I shake the bottle a lot and that's it!

As cores ficam lindas e também podemos usar tinta acrílica metálica, fazendo o mesmo processo.

The colors look beautiful and we can also use metallic acrylic paint, doing the same process.

Tenho uma caixa aqui no estúdio que uso quando preciso fazer trabalhos com sprays, assim o spray não se espalha pelo estúdio e não há perigo de acidentes.

I have a box here in the studio that I use when I need to do spray works, so the spray does not spread through the studio and there is no danger of accidents.

Todo o trabalho de colorir é feito dentro da caixa.

All the coloring work is done inside the box.

E voilà!

Os papéis ficam absolutamente lindos!

And voila!
