Álbum Carrinhos na Cidade (Cars in the City Album)

Olá!

Agora que peguei o gosto em fazer álbuns ninguém me segura, parece vício, um bom vício!

Este aqui fiz pensando nos meninos - embora possa ser usado pelas meninas também - pra guardar fotos de aniversário, de festas, de travessuras...mas essa capa com carrinhos no trânsito também sugere colocar fotos de viagens feitas pelos pequenos, que tal?

É um álbum de aproximadamente 30cm x 23 xm, grandinho!

Now that I've got the taste of making albums nobody can stop me, it seems like an addiction, a good addiction!

This one I've made for the boys - although it can also be used by  girls - for storing day-by-day photos, birthday photos and so on, but this cover with cars in traffic also suggests photos of trips, how about that? 

It's an album of approximately 30 cm x 23 xm, a little big!

A capa foi feita com 2 tecidos importados: tanto o tecido de carrinhos quanto o tecido liso especial para encadernação são 100% algodão. A parte de dentro das capas também é de tecido liso.

Há uma janela pra colocar a foto da criança na capa mas quem quiser pode colocar o nome ao invés da foto.

The cover was made with 2 imported fabrics: both are 100% cotton. The inside of the covers are also made with these fabrics.  

There is a window on the front cover to put the child's photo but we can put the child's name instead of the photo. 

A costura é Codex feita com linha vermelha, de algodão, encerada e a concertina é amarela pra destacar bem a costura.

The seam is Codex made with red waxed cotton line, and the accordion is yellow, to highlight the sewing. 

O miolo é em papel ColorPlus 240g/m², na cor Milano (cinza médio), com 40 folhas, ou seja, 80 páginas. Em cada página podem ser coladas 2 fotos de aproximadamente 15cm x 10cm.

Intercalando cada página coloquei papel manteiga, pra evitar que as fotos grudem umas nas outras com o tempo.

Kernels are in  ColorPlus paper 240g / m²,  Milano color (medium gray), with 40 sheets, 80 pages. On each page can be pasted 2 pictures of about 15cm x 10cm.

Interweaving each page I've put parchment paper, to prevent the photos of pasting on each other  over time. 

Cole sempre as fotos com fita adesiva dupla face.

Gostaram? Bjus e voltem sempre, daqui a pouco faço outro!

Ah, desculpem pela fotos...realmente tirar fotos não é o meu forte mas com um pouco de sorte vou substituí-las por outras mais claras, centralizadas, certinhas....com o tempo eu consigo (que esperança..)

And sorry for the pictures ... in fact,  taking pictures is not my best but with a little luck I'll replace them with other photos, more clear, centered ....(I hope so..) 

Dicas da Brigit - Conservação de Livros 1 (Brigit's Hints - Conservation of Books 1)

Olá, people!

Esta é uma postagem que estou pensando em fazer há tempos: como conservar e tratar seus livros!

Com frequência me fazem perguntas sobre isso e parece ser um assunto até fácil, mas um ou outro detalhe pode passar sem que nos demos conta dele.

E assim, como o texto é um pouco extenso e como também pretendo dar “dicas” sobre alguns livros produzidos pelo Estúdio Brigit,  vou chamar todas as postagens de “Dicas da Brigit”.

Então vamos lá.





Conservação de Livros:

A conservação preventiva dos livros é muito importante.  Não há nada pior do que abrir um livro e achar uma traça nele!

Restaurar um livro também pode sair caro pois é um serviço feito  por profissional especializado que usa técnicas e recursos específicos. Então, é bem melhor cuidar antes do que ter que restaurar depois.

De um modo geral, a maior ou menor deterioração de um livro  bem como o tempo que isso  leva depende da qualidade do papel, do tipo de cola, do tipo de linha usada na costura, da luz, temperatura, umidade, de insetos e fungos a que fica exposto. Quanta coisa.

Onde guardar os livros?

Antes de mais nada vamos falar do cômodo em si.

Se você tem um cômodo em casa que usa como biblioteca ou mesmo escritório, este deve ser arejado e com ao menos uma janela que você possa abrir diariamente por algumas horas; então nada de guardar livros em porões, subsolos, forros de telhados nem naquele cômodo  “pequenininho e bonitinho” mas  sem ventilação nem janelas  pois a umidade nesses lugares pode entortar as capas e favorecer fungos e traças.

A luz do sol diretamente nos livros também pode desbota-los e amarela-los,  então não deixe que os raios solares incidam diretamente sobre eles. Se não puder evitar a incidência dos raios solares nos livros, use uma cortina ou persiana e limpe-as periodicamente para que não acumulem fungos nem insetos.

O cômodo escolhido deve ser realmente frequentado pelas pessoas da casa pois isso ajuda a afastar alguns insetos já que os livros serão manuseados com frequência. Quando manuseamos os livros virando suas páginas oxigenamos as mesmas e assim os microorganismos que normalmente se instalam e atacam o papel  não se acumulam tanto; assim também as folhas não ficam tão ressecadas e não grudam umas nas outras.

Falando em folhas, muitas vezes quando descrevo um livro do Estúdio Brigit e digo “folhas”, “páginas”, “caderno”  e “lâminas” há uma certa confusão, então vou fazer uma postagem especial mais à frente com algumas definições dos componentes de um livro.

This is a post I've been thinking to write a long time ago: how to store and treat  books!



People often ask me questions about this subject and it seems to be easy, but one or other detail may pass before we  realize it.



So, as the text is somewhat long and as I also want to give tips on some books made by  Estúdio Brigit, I'll call these posts "Brigit's Hints."



So here we go.





The conservation of books:



Preventive conservation of books is very important. There is nothing worse than open a book and find a moth in it!

Restoring a book can also be expensive because it is a service made by a professional that uses specialized techniques and resources. So it's better caring before rather than having to restore afterwards.



In general, the more or less deterioration of a book, as well as the time it takes, depends on the quality of the paper, the type of glue, the type of line used on the seam, light, temperature, humidity, the kind os insects and fungi that the books are exposed to. How much stuff.



Where to store the books? 



First of all let's talk about the room itself.



If you have a comfortable room used as a library or office, it must be ventilated and it must have at least one window so you can open it daily for a few hours; never keep books in cellars, basements, roofing felts and not even in that "small and cute" room  but without windows or ventilation since the humidity in these places can bend the covers and encourage fungus and moths. 



The direct light from the sun on the books can also fade and yellow them. If you can not avoid the incidence of the sunlight on the books, use a curtain or blinds and clean them periodically so that fungi or insects do not accumulate.



The chosen room should really be attended by people from the house because it helps dispel some insects since the books will be handled frequently. While handling the books by turning its pages the  oxygen goes through the pages and  the microorganisms that normally arise and attack the paper do not accumulate , so the sheets do not become so dry and do not stick on each others.



Speaking of sheets, usually when I describe a book made by Studio Brigit  using the words "sheets," "pages", "signature", etc., people do not understand, so, later  I'll write a special post  with some definitions of the components of a book.

Livro das Sombras ou Grimório (Book of Shadows or Grimoire)

Seguindo a mesma linha do Livro das Sombras anterior, este tem aproximadamente 21cm x 26 cm, as folhas de guarda são de papel ColorPlus preto 120g/m² e o miolo tem 100 folhas em papel Reciclato 120g/m².

Following the same line as the previous Book of Shadows, this is approximately 21cm x26 cm, the guard sheets are ColorPlus black paper 120g / m², inside it has 200 sheets of Reciclato paper 120g / m².

A capa é em courino preto (couro artificial); o fundo da estrela é em tecido importado para encadernação azul marinho; a lua é em tecido importado para encadernação na cor cinza.

The cover is in black courino (artificial leather), the star's background is in imported binder fabric in navy blue color , the moon  is in imported binder fabric,  in gray color.

Nas pontas da estrela há a incrustação de pedras nas seguintes cores: preta (Espírito), azul (Ar), amarela (Terra), vermelha (fogo) e translúcida (Água).

In the edges of the star there is the imbedding of stones in the following colors: black (Spirit), blue(Air), yellow (Earth), red (Fire) and translucent (Water).

São usadas pedras como o onix, a ágata, o quartzo, a turmalina, etc...e como optei pela fidelidade à representação das cores as pedras podem variar.

The stones used can be onyx, agate, quartz, tourmaline, etc ... and as I've chosen to be fidel in the representation of the colors the stones may vary according to the colors.

A lombada é redonda decorada com linha encerada.

The spine is round decorated with waxed thread.

Este é um livro especial, único, exclusivo porque não fazemos 2 Livros das Sombras iguais.

This book is special, unique because we do not make two equal  Books of Shadows.

Coloquei 2 marcadores de páginas, um de fita de cetim preta com pingente de estrela e o outro com fita de gorgurão roxa com pingente de coruja.

The book has 2 bookmarks, one in black satin ribbon with a star pendant  and the other with purple grosgrain ribbon with an owl pendant.
