Hoje é quinta-feira, dia de viagem! Vamos para a Catedral de Notre-Dame?
"Notre-Dame" significa "Nossa Senhora" e essa linda catedral em estilo gótico foi feita para homenagear a Mãe de Jesus.
A construção da catedral começou em 1163 na Praça Parvis que fica em uma pequena ilha no Rio Sena, em Paris.
Isso mesmo, bem no meio do Rio Sena existem 2 ilhas lindas, uma ao lado da outra: a maior é a "Île de la Cité" onde fica a Catedral de Notre-Dame e a menor é a "Île Saint-Louis", ambas cheias de construções antigas, bem conservadas e de comércio voltado para o turismo.

"Notre-Dame" means "Our Lady" as this beautiful Gothic cathedral was made to honor the Mother of Jesus.
The construction of the cathedral began in 1163 in the Square Parvis which sits on a small island in the River Seine, in Paris.
Oh yes, right in the middle of the Seine there are two beautiful islands, one beside the other: the big one is the "Île de la Cité" where the Cathedral of Notre-Dame is placed and the small one is the "Île Saint-Louis", both full of old and well maintained buildings and trade facing tourism.
As 2 ilhas tem algumas pontes (curtas e lindas) que ligam cada uma até o outro lado do Sena.
Em volta da Catedral existem lojas de todos os tipos, bares, pequenos restaurantes com mesas e cadeiras nas calçadas bem ao estilo francês.....e turistas! Centenas de turistas disputam um lugar dentro das lojas, dos bares e da Catedral pois dependendo da hora do dia é preciso ficar numa fila para conseguir entrar!
Existem também muitos artistas sentados tranquilamente em seus banquinhos portáteis, pincel ou lápis nas mãos, olhos fixos na catedral e blocos de papel sobre os joelhos....o resultado são aquarelas lindas e coloridas, desenhos em preto e branco, tudo rico em detalhes, a Arte presente ao alcance de todos.
The two islands have few bridges (short and beautiful) that bind to the other side of the Seine.
Around the Cathedral there are all kinds of shops, bars, small restaurants with tables and chairs on the sidewalk in the French style ..... and tourists! Hundreds of tourists compete for a place within the shops, bars and the Cathedral because depending on the time of the day you need to get in line to get in!
There are also many artists sitting quietly on their portable stools, brush or pencil in hand, staring at the cathedral and pads of paper on the knees .... the result is beautiful and colorful watercolors, drawings in black and white, all rich in details , Art available to everyone.
A Catedral é imponente e toda trabalhada em pedra, com suas estátuas e as famosas gárgulas que fizeram parte de um dos romances mais famosos do mundo, de Victor Hugo, O Corcunda de Notre-Dame onde o corcunda Quasimodo se apaixona pela cigana Esmeralda.
Eu bem que olhei para cima procurando o tal Quasimodo...mas nas vezes em que estive lá ele não apareceu, devia estar fazendo turismo em outro país, quem sabe...
As rosáceas e os vitrais são absolutamente estonteantes e embora tirar fotos dentro da Catedral seja proibido, minha máquina adquiriu vida própria e sorrateiramente conseguiu tirar algumas fotos do interior dessa construção.
O órgão é enorme (foto acima), de tirar o folego, e os sinos são poderosos!
The Cathedral is impressive and all worked in stone, with its statues and the famous gargoyles that were part of one of the world's most famous novels of Victor Hugo's, The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, where the hunchback Quasimodo falls for the gypsy Esmeralda.
Well, I looked up trying to see Quasimodo ... but on the days I was there he was absent, maybe doing tourism in another country, who knows ...
The rosettes and stained glass are absolutely stunning and although taking pictures inside the Cathedral is forbidden, my camera took on a life of its own and managed to surreptitiously take some pictures of the interior of this building.
The organ is huge, breathtaking, and the bells are powerful!
A Catedral foi palco de acontecimentos importantes como a coroação a Imperador da França de Napoleão Bonaparte e a beatificação de Joana d'Arc, entre outros.
Visitei o lugar à noite e para meu espanto parece que todos os turistas tiveram a mesma ideia: fotografar a Catedral e suas luzes perfeitamente colocadas de forma a realçar ainda mais sua beleza. Chovia bastante nessa noite.
Aliás, chuva e sol eram um dilema da Natureza! Saí de Paris com nada menos que 5 ( eu disse CINCO) guarda-chuvas!
Saudades daquela chuvinha........e assim me apaixonei por Paris.....novamente.

The Cathedral was the scene of important events as the coronation of the Emperor of France, Napoleon Bonaparte, and the beatification of Joan of Arc, among others.
I visited the place at night and to my surprise it seems that all the tourists had the same idea: photographing the Cathedral and its lights perfectly placed so as to further enhance its beauty. It was raining a lot that night.
By the way, rain and sun were a dilemma of Nature! I left Paris with no less than 5 (I said FIVE) umbrellas!
Miss that rain so much....and so I fell in love with Paris ..... again.
