Heart Book!

Olá!

De vez em quando (todo dia!) gosto de fazer desenhos, pinturas, arte. É bom pra relaxar, pra pensar, pra inspirar a novas ideias e também serve de "aquecimento" quando minhas ideias ficam bloqueadas.

Então, pego algum livro ou papel, canetas, lápis de cor, pincéis, giz, aquarelas e mais um tanto,  começo a rabiscar, sem preocupação, sem compromisso.....e vai aparecendo alguma figura. 

Pode ser o desenho de alguma coisa conhecida ou pode ser abstrata.

Fico um bom tempo, gosto de começar e acabar, é raro deixar para continuar depois. 

Este coração aqui da foto pintei ontem de tarde, na capa de um novo "Smash Book" que resolvi chamar de "Heart Book".

Um smash book é um livro, na verdade é um caderno, que tem um tema; por exemplo, no meu caso eu dei a ele o nome de Heart Book porque pretendo desenhar corações, escrever sobre corações, ou coisas relacionadas. 

Normalmente as pessoas chamam de "livro" quando ele é impresso em gráfica como livros de história, romances, contos, culinária...mas eu chamo de "livro" todos os que faço aqui no Estúdio, com as páginas em branco.

Tenho alguns livros pra fazer arte quando tenho vontade; sketchbooks, livros pra aquarelas, pra desenhos, Art Journal.....

Vou passar a mostrar algumas das "artes" que faço, aqui no blog.

From time to time (every day!) I like to draw, to  paint, 'make' art. It's good to relax, to think, to inspire new ideas and also serves as a "warming" when my ideas are blocked.

So, I grab a book or paper, pens, crayons, brushes, chalk, watercolors and a bit more, and start to scribble, without worry, without compromise ..... and some figure will appear.

It may be the design of something known or can be abstract.

It takes a good time, I like to start and finish, it is rare to continue after leaving.

The heart of this photo was painted  yesterday afternoon, on the cover of a new "Smash Book" that I decided to call "Heart Book".

A smash book is a book... actually is a notebook, that has a theme, for example, in my case I gave him the name of Heart Book because I intend to draw hearts, to write about hearts or related things.

Usually people call "book" when it is printed like history books, novels, short stories, cooking books...but  I call "book" all I make here in the studio, with blank pages.

I have some books to do my art: sketchbooks, books to watercolors, to drawings, Art Journal .....

From now on I'm going to show some of the "arts" I do, here on the blog.

A Viagem (11): Museu do Louvre (Louvre - The Trip)

Continuando nossa visita ao Museu do Louvre, olha esse teto com essa pintura! Lindo, o olhar prende nele, são tantos detalhes, uma obra de arte.

As esculturas também são lindas, esta em mármore é bem parecida com a Pietá, mas a verdadeira Pietá está na Basílica de São Pedro, em Roma.

Continuing our visit to the Louvre, look at this ceiling with this painting! Beautiful, we can't stop looking, so many details, a work of art.

The sculptures are also beautiful, this one in marble is very similar to Pieta, but the real Pieta is in Saint Peter's Basilica, Rome.

Existem vários salões apenas com esculturas, algumas enormes, umas podemos tocar e outras não.

There are several rooms only with sculptures, some huge, some we can touch, others we can't.

Tudo é arte nesse museu: o teto, as peças em exposição e o chão!

Everything is art in this museum: the ceiling, the floor and the pieces on display!

A maior parte dos salões é enorme, o museu fica lotado de visitantes mas mesmo assim os salões parecem vazios.

Most salons are huge, the museum is crowded with visitors but the rooms are so big it seems they 're empty.

Um museu que é um palácio, majestoso!

Livro das Sombras "Old Black Sabbath" (Book of Shadows)

Semana passada mostrei um Livro das Sombras novo, todo preto, uma encomenda para a cidade de Paraty, lembram?

Pra quem não viu, foi neste post:

E agora voltei para mostrar como ficou o livro envelhecido, do jeito que o futuro dono queria!

As folhas foram envelhecidas uma a uma manualmente, e todo o livro também. Pra envelhecer faço uma seleção de tintas e pinto com cuidado e paciência pra não exagerar no envelhecimento, tem que ficar no ponto certo!

Last week I showed a new Book of Shadows, all black, an order for someone  from the city of Paraty, remember?

For those who haven't seen the post:

And now I'm back to show how the book was aged, the way that the future owner wanted!

The sheets were aged one by one manually, and the entire book was aged as well. To age a book I choose  a selection of paints and paint with care and patience  not to overdo the aging knowing the time to stop.

Dá trabalho porque envelheço a frente do livro, espero secar e depois envelheço a parte de trás.

It takes time  and  work, first I age the front of the book, wait to dry and then I  age the back.

Os marcadores, as cantoneiras e os metais também entram no processo de envelhecimento.



Markers,  angles and metals also enter in the aging process.

E aqui o livro fechado, já seco:

A tarja pra ajustar o volume do livro passa pela parte de trás:

The stripe to adjust the volume of the book goes through the back:

Vejam o detalhe da costura cruzada na lombada:

Look at the detail of the cross stitching on the spine:

O Pentagrama é impresso em papel, mas também envelheço um pouco:

The Pentagram is printed on paper, but I age it a little too:

Nesta foto abaixo parece que há uma parte avermelhada mas não usei vermelho, a foto é que alterou a cor. Usei tons de terra e verdes para envelhecer.

In this photo below it looks like there is a  reddish part but there's not, maybe the photo  changed the color. I used earth and green tones  for aging.

E aqui o livro "Black Sabbath" pronto e seco, agora é só embrulhar com cuidado.

Ah, mas antes de enviar o livro gosto de escrever algumas palavras para quem vai recebe-lo. Então, na próxima postagem vou mostrar a carta que sempre mando quando faço um Livro das Sombras.
