Dezembro! Já estamos no Natal! E já estamos no fim do ano também!

Hoje é dia de Aquarela, a primeira de Dezembro e embora aqui no Brasil seja quase Verão gosto de lembrar do Natal frio do Hemisfério Norte, e até com neve, dependendo do país.

Acho lindo um Natal com neve. Sei que o frio atrapalha um pouco pra quem mora nos países "lá de cima", mas pra nós que praticamente "assamos" com o calor o clima também não é fácil nesta época do ano.

December! It's Christmas time! And we're already at the end of the year too!

Today is Watercolor Day, the first of December and although here in Brazi is almost summer I like to remember the cold Christmas of the Northern Hemisphere, and even with snow, depending on the country.

I think it's a beautiful Christmas, with snow. I know the cold gets in the way of people who live in countries "up there", but for us who practically "bake" in our Summer the weather is not easy at this time of year.

Além disso, um Natal representado por papai Noel, bonecos de neve, trenós e frio é muito mais bonito do que um natal com pessoas suando...... gente, não adianta: pra mim Natal tem que ter tudo referente ao frio e como neste momento não estou "lá em cima" no gelo, pintei um boneco de neve pra ficar "mais perto" do que considero um Natal lindo.

In addition, a Christmas represented by Santa Claus, snowmen, sleds and cold is much more beautiful than a Christmas with people sweating ...... guys,  for me Christmas has to have everything related to the cold and as at the moment I'm not "up there" on the ice, I painted a snowman to get "closer" to what I consider a beautiful Christmas.

Material que usei:

- fita crepe;

- papel para aquarela 250g/m²;

- 2 recipientes com água filtrada;

- pincel chato nº 18;

- pincel redondo nº12, 3;

- lápis e borracha;

- aquarela nas cores: Turqouise Blue, Purple Blue, Red, Cobalt Blue, Orange, Leaf Green, Payne's Gray.

- sal grosso;

- Médium Iridiscente;

- guache branco;

- carimbo natalino;

- carimbeira preta Archival Ink;

- folha de papel metalizado azul.



Material I Used:



-  tape;

- watercolor paper 250g / m²;

- 2 containers with filtered water;

- flat brush # 18;

- round brush # 12, 3;

- pencil and eraser;

- Watercolors: Turqouise Blue, Purple Blue, Red, Cobalt Blue, Orange, Leaf Green, Payne's Gray.

- coarse salt;

- Iridiscente Medium;

- white gouache;

- christmas stamp;

- black stamp Archival Ink;

- sheet of blue metallic paper.

A Viagem (158): Tear e Fachadas (The Trip: Loom and Facades)

Ontem fui visitar uma antiga fábrica de tecidos, daqueles de lã com que se fazem os kilts e outras roupas típicas escocesas. Na verdade é um tipo de museu que mostra o passo a passo desde que a lã chega em estado bruto até virar um tecido xadrez, ou tartã.

Yesterday I visited an old factory of fabrics,  those of wool with which the kilts and other typical Scottish clothes are made. In fact it is a kind of museum that shows step by step since the wool arrives in the raw state until turning a fabric plaid, or tartan.

As máquinas, a maior parte operada por pessoas, hoje em dia acredito que tenham sido substituídas por máquinas automáticas mas olhar pra todas aquelas cenas, onde bonecos representam as pessoas que trabalhavam confeccionando tudo, um trabalho artesanal mesmo, me faz pensar em como a vida era calma, como os dias parece que durava mais e como o mundo tinha uma caminhar mais lento.

The machines, mostly operated by people, nowadays I believe they have been replaced by automatic machines but look at all those scenes, where dolls represent the people who worked making everything, a craft work, makes me think of how life  was calm, as the days seemed to last longer and as the world had a slower pace.

Edinburgh é uma cidade que mantém o antigo, que conserva suas fachadas e se orgulha delas! Todo o Reino Unido é assim: orgulhoso de seu passado.  Então temos as ruas repletas de história, em cada loja, em cada construção com certeza há uma história a ser contada, algumas conhecidas outras não.

Edinburgh is a city that retains the old,  retains its facades and is proud of them! The whole UK is like this: proud of its past. So we have streets full of history, in every store, in every construction there is  surely a story to be told, some known other not.

Janelas nas esquinas das construções são comuns, aqui no Brasil, ao contrário, é difícil encontrar uma construção assim, por isso cada vez que vejo fico tentando imaginar como é por dentro, como fica a disposição dos móveis. E as janelas também são muito perto umas das outras, não sei se todos os cômodos tem janelas ou se cada edifício antigo tem apenas janelas frontais.

No Centro da Cidade, aqui no Rio, existem alguns edifícios antigos assim e as janelas são todas pra frente, e únicas. São detalhes de construções que não vemos mais. A diferença é que em muitos países o antigo é cultivado, preservado.... e aqui no Rio nem sempre, uma pena.

Windows in the corners of buildings are common, here in Brazil, on the contrary, it is difficult to find such a construction, so every time I see one I try to imagine how it is inside, how is the arrangement of furniture. And the windows are also very close to each other, do not know if every room has windows or if each old building has only front windows.

In the City Center, here in Rio, there are some old buildings like this and the windows are all forward, and unique. These are details of buildings that we do not see anymore. The difference is that in many countries the old is cultivated, preserved .... and here in Rio it is not always, a shame.

Hoje acordei assim, saudosa.........
