Continuando a matéria da semana passada, dentro do palacete a arquitetura é muito interessante, poderia estar melhor preservada, mas mesmo assim podemos observar as paredes e colunas rebuscadas, uma bela arte. Também podemos ver o Cristo Redentor ao fundo, ou seja, uma bela paisagem!

Continuing the story of last week, inside the palace the architecture is very interesting, could be better preserved, but even then we can observe the walls and ornate columns, a beautiful art. We can also see the Christ Redeemer in the background, that is, a beautiful landscape!

O palácio é voltado pra dentro, há um pátio interno e uma pequena piscina que podemos chamar de lago artificial, mas sem peixes, e uma cafeteria que também serve almoços.

The palace faces inside, there is an internal courtyard and a small swimming pool that we can call artificial lake, but without fish, and a cafeteria that also serves lunch.

Fiz também 4 sketches, o tempo era curto porque eu tinha hora pra ir embora.

O primeiro que fiz foi este da foto abaixo, não gravei vídeo, mas aqui está:

I also did 4 sketches, time was short because I had time to leave.

Depois, sentada nos jardins e ainda com a névoa da manhã desenhei o palacete com lápis mas não aquarelei no mesmo dia, e desta vez gravei vídeo:

Then, sitting in the gardens and still in the morning mist I drew the palace with a pencil but I did not watercolor it on  the same day, and this time I recorded  a video:

O material que usei em todos os sketches foi:

- sketchbook do Estúdio Brigit;

- lapiseira HB da Koh-I-Noor;

- borracha;

- mesa portátil feita no estúdio; (veja aqui como fazer);

- pincel com reservatório;

- meia de pulso para limpar pincel;

- aquarela nas cores: Payne's Gray; Turqouise, Permanent Red Medium, Yellow Ochre, Dioxazine Purple.

- Cores para vegetação: Azo Yellow, Leaf Green, Olive Green;

- Caneta pincel Koi Sakura Dark Cool Gray.

The material I used in all the sketches was:

- Estudio Brigit' sketchbook;

- HB pencil from Koh-I-Noor;

- eraser;

- portable table made in the studio; (here's how to make it);

- brush with reservoir;

- wrist sock to clean brush;

- watercolors: Payne's Gray; Turqouise, Permanent Red Medium, Yellow Ocher, Purple Dioxazine.

- Colors for vegetation: Azo Yellow, Leaf Green, Olive Green;

- Koi Sakura Dark Cool Gray Brush Pen.

A Viagem (164): A casa da Rainha na Escócia! (The Trip: The Queen's house in Scotland!)

Ah, hoje tenho algumas fotos da residência oficial da  rainha quando vai à Escócia: o Palácio de Holyrood.

Fundado em 1128 como mosteiro, desde o século XV tornou-se a residência dos reis e rainhas na Escócia e atualmente a Rainha Elizabeth fica cerca de uma semana nele, no começo do Verão.

Oh, today I have some pictures of the queen's official residence when she goes to Scotland: Holyrood Palace.

Founded in 1128 as a monastery, since the 15th century it has become the residence of kings and queens in Scotland and currently Queen Elizabeth stays for about a week in it at the beginning of summer.

Fica aberto o ano inteiro mas apenas algumas alas podem ser visitadas, e já hospedou pessoas famosas como Nelson Mandela, Vladimir Putin e o Papa Bento XVI, entre outros.



Andei primeiro pela propriedade, é de uma paz, um silêncio indescritível. Depois entrei, e segui a ordem de visitação que há no interior. É um palácio enorme, acredito que se visitei 10% dele foi muito.

It is open all year round but only a few rooms can be visited, and it has hosted famous people like Nelson Mandela, Vladimir Putin and Pope Benedict XVI, among others.

I walked first by the property, a feeling of  peace, an indescribable silence. Then I entered, and followed the order of visitation that there is in the interior. It is a huge palace, I believe if I visited 10% of it was a lot.

 O Palácio fica no fim da Royal Mile, em frente ao Parlamento escocês e bem perto do museu Our Dynamic Earth.

Na verdade eu andava pela Royal Mile todos os dias, do começo ao fim, conhecia cada loja, cada beco, cada pub. Tudo gravado em minha mente, todos os lugares por onde andei, era como se eu tivesse nascido e vivido ali por toda a minha vida.

The Palace sits at the end of the Royal Mile, opposite the Scottish Parliament and very close to the Our Dynamic Earth museum.

I actually walked the Royal Mile every day, from start to finish, I knew every shop, every alley, every pub. Everything engraved in my mind, everywhere I walked, it was as if I had been born and lived there all my life.

Objetos de arte, brasões, armaduras, livros, móveis, vestidos, mobília, sapatos, chapéus, objetos particulares, quadros, tapetes, pinturas.....tudo isso mostra como era a vida dos escoceses de outros séculos, como era o reinado de reis e rainhas que viveram no lugar.
Meus olhos percorrem tudo, registram tudo!

Objects of art, coats, armor, books, furniture, dresses, furniture, shoes, hats, private objects, paintings, carpets..... all this shows what life was like for the Scots of other centuries, of kings and queens who lived in the place.

My eyes run through everything, record everything!

Como limpar pincel com reservatório? Fica a Dica! (How to clean brush with reservoir? The Tip!) - VIDEO

Pincéis com reservatório são ótimos pra viajar ou pra quando vamos fazer uma pintura fora de casa, na rua, numa praça, etc, podem ser os pincéis preferidos de alguns sketchers pela praticidade de carregar água e pincel juntos num só.

Além de água, alguns artistas colocam nanquim, aquarela líquida, tinta acrílica diluída e ate glitter (usam em artesanato, por exemplo).

Mas você sabia que é preciso lavar o pincel pelo menos uma vez por semana pra evitar que a umidade dentro dele crie limo???

Esse limo aparece dentro do reservatório de água e poderá passar para a pintura, para as tintas na sua caixa e até entupir o pincel!

Mas com uma boa e fácil limpeza semanal podemos evitar esse problema.

Brushes with reservoir are great for traveling or when we are going to do a painting outdoors, on the street, in a square, etc., they can be the favorite brushes of some sketchers for the practicality of carrying water and brush together in one.

In addition to water, some artists put ink, liquid water, diluted acrylic paint and even glitter (for example, they use them in crafts).

But do you know that it is necessary to wash the brush at least once a week to avoid that the humidity inside it creates slime ???

This slime appears inside the water barrel and it can contaminate the painting, the paint in your box and even clog the brush!

But with a good and easy weekly cleaning we can avoid this problem.

Primeiro fazemos um cotonete comprido usando palitos (de churrasco) ou hashi  com algodão na ponta. Colocamos detergente no algodão, e limpamos o reservatório de água até que o algodão saia limpo; depois é preciso enxaguar bem com água pra que não fique nenhum vestígio de detergente (como mostra a primeira foto).

 First we make a long swab using sticks (of barbecue) or hashi with cotton in the tip. We put detergent on the cotton, and we clean the water barrel until the cotton comes out clean; then we rinse well with water so that there is no trace of detergent (as the first picture shows).

Depois vamos á limpeza do pincel, da ponta, que deverá ser separada do plástico que a envolve e enxaguada com água várias vezes, se quiser pode deixa-la de molho em água por alguns minutos; essa parte você pode ver melhor no vídeo.

Veja nas fotos que tampei a pia pra que nenhuma peça fosse "ralo abaixo" para meu desespero!

Then we will clean the brush, the tip, which should be separated from the surrounding plastic and rinsed with water several times,you may soak it in water for a few minutes; this part you can see better in the video above.

I plugged the sink so that no part was "drained" to my despair!

A ponta de cerdas é encaixada novamente na parte plástica e por fim, a tampa do pincel também precisa ser lavada com cotonete e detergente.

É importante usar cotonete porque ele vai esfregar, retirar qualquer partícula de limo ou de outra sujeira que esteja nas partes do pincel. Apenas enxaguar não fará isso, o "serviço" tem que ser completo!



Com esses cuidados você terá seu pincel com reservatório útil por muito anos!

The bristle tip is fitted back into the plastic part, and finally the brush cap also needs to be washed with cotton swab and detergent.

It is important to use cotton swab because it will rub the barrel removing any particle of slime or other dirt  in all parts of the brush. Just rinsing will not do this, the "service" has to be complete!

With such care you will have your brush with reservoir useful for many years!
