Minha bolsa de Aquarela pra viagem + Penêdo (My Watercolor travel bag + Penêdo city) - VIDEO

E voltei das férias já mostrando o que levei de material para sketch na minha bolsa de viagem!



Eu adoro ver o material que os outros artistas levam nas viagens e também gosto de mostrar o que eu uso. Até que desta vez levei pouca coisa, só o que me incomodou um pouco foi o fato de ter levado meus 2 estojos de aquarela e o maior ser pesado, mas muito pesado!



No vídeo também mostro um pouco da cidade de Penêdo, que fica a uns 165km da cidade do rio de janeiro, as que pertence ao estado do Rio de Janeiro.

So here I am back from the holidays and already showing my sketch material in my travel bag!

I love to see the material that other artists take on travel and I also like to show what I use. This time I took few material, but what bothered me a little was the fact that I took my 2 watercolor boxes and the biggest one was heavy, very heavy!



In the video I also show the city of Penêdo, which is about 165km from the city of Rio de Janeiro and belongs to the state of Rio de Janeiro.

Almocei no Fritz, comida boa, e depois fui andar um pouco pelas ruas e ver os artesanatos e as lojas de pedras, de velas....adoro!

Na foto abaixo, uma pedra de assar pizza, imagina o tamanho dela!

I had lunch at the Fritz, good food,  then I went to walk around the streets and see the crafts and the shops of stones, candles .... I love it!

In the picture below, a pizza baking stone, imagine the size of it!

Entrei no shopping Pequena Finlândia, um mundo de lojas lindas e de arte.

I went to the Little Finland mall, a world of beautiful shops and art.

E claro que em Penêdo  é Natal o ano inteiro, não importa o mês!

And of course in Penedo is Christmas all year round, no matter the month!

E no meio da tarde já estava de volta à estrada pra São Lourenço, Minas Gerais, que é o meu objetivo. Na foto abaixo, um pouco da Serra da Mantiqueira ainda no Rio.

 And in the middle of the afternoon I was back on the road to São Lourenço, Minas Gerais, which is my goal. In the photo below, a bit of the Serra da Mantiqueira still in Rio.

Um pequeno descanso...(A little rest...)

Olá!



A partir de hoje: férias!



Na verdade o estúdio entrou de férias no Youtube no dia 16 de junho mas continuei colocando posts aqui no blog porque precisava mostrar o conteúdo dos últimos 6 vídeos, que eram 6 Junk Journals.



Todos os anos, no meio do ano, eu tiro os últimos 15 dias de Julho pra descansar mas este ano precisei de um tempo maior por causa da saúde. Estou com meu ombro esquerdo, braços e pulsos bem doídos, quer seja por má postura, por fazer força, por movimentos repetitivos....enfim, apenas o que me alivia a dor são alguns relaxantes musculares e anti inflamatórios. Eu realmente preciso de um descanso maior.



E  tenho conseguido descansar mesmo? Não!



Tenho feito livros e mais livros, novidades, pra quando voltar no começo de agosto, mas em ritmo mais lento, com mais calma, então as dores aliviaram um pouco.



Este ano também tomei a resolução de não aceitar mais encomendas e de mudar minha forma de encadernar pra outra que exigisse menos força, algo mais simples mas que todos gostassem. Daí comecei a fazer Junk Journals, Vintage Journals, todos com a costura panfleto exposta presa à lombada ou coberta e colada na lombada.



Seja como for, mudar o modo de encadernar tem me ajudado a enfrentar as dores, que diminuíram um pouco e de certa forma me deram novo ânimo: novos livros, novos objetivos, sacudir a poeira e partir pra coisas novas que não tinha feito antes!



Assim, minhas "férias" continuarão até o fim de julho mas em agosto estarei de volta, e também a loja reabrirá.

Hello!

From now on: I'm on vacation!

In fact the studio went on vacation on Youtube on June 16th but I kept posting here on the blog because I needed to show the content of the last 6 videos, which were 6 Junk Journals.

Every year, in the middle of the year, I take the last 15 days of July to rest, but this year I needed a longer time because of my health. I have my left shoulder, arms and wrists very hurt, whether by bad posture, by force, by repetitive movements .... anyway, only what relieves my pain are some muscle relaxants and anti inflammatory. I really need a bigger break.

So, have I even been able to rest? No!

I've been making books and more books  for the time I get back in early August, but at a slower, calmer pace, then the pains have eased a little.

This year I also made the decision not to accept more orders and to change the way I bound to another that requires less force, something simpler but that everyone liked. Saying so, I began to make Junk Journals, Vintage Journals, all with the exposed  pamphlet seamed  attached to the spine or covered and glued to the spine.

In any case, changing the binding mode has helped me deal with the pains, which have diminished a little and in a certain way gave me new courage: new books, new goals, removing the  dust and going to new things that I had not done before!

So, my "vacations" will continue until the end of July but in August I will be back, and also the store will reopen.

JUNK JOURNAL - Paris #6 - VIDEO

Chegamos ao sexto e último Junk Journal, com o tema Paris, cidade Luz!



Sou apaixonada por Paris: pela energia alegre da cidade, pelas praças, museus, pela comida, pelos doces maravilhosos, pelo Louvre, pelo palácio de Versailles, pelas roupas, pelas lojas......por tudo!



Como fiz apenas 6 Junks (porque são muito trabalhosos de fazer) e muita gente queria mas não conseguiu comprar (afinal eram apenas 6!) vou fazer mais Junk Journals com o tema Paris e outros Junks com outros temas.

 We arrived at the sixth and last Junk Journal, with the theme Paris, the city of Light!

I am in love with Paris: with the cheerful energy of the city, the squares, the museums, the food, the wonderful sweets, the Louvre, the Versailles palace, the clothes, the shops ... everything!

As I only made 6 Junks (because they are very hard to do) and a lot of people wanted but could not buy (after all they were only 6!) I will make more Junk Journals with the theme Paris and other Junks with other themes.

Todos muito parecidos mas ao mesmo tempo únicos, exclusivos. Medem 14cm x 19cm, e tem 80 folhas recheadas de mimos: envelopes, papéis, cartas, tags, pingentes, fitas, rendas......

No próximo post explico por que estou de férias, mas são férias rápidas, daqui a pouco estou de volta.
