Today we continue to paint the illustration of the book GATOS by Marjorie Sarnat, and I start painting the ornaments on the cat, so next week I am going to finish painting the whole drawing.
The ornaments always cause doubt in the choice of colors and the help of the Chromatic Disc is important for us to have harmonious colors, even if contrasting.
The materials remain the same:
a white sheet of paper, a sharpener, a brush. a moldable eraser, a brush to clean the sharpener, a pencil extender, a blender pencil, a box of Color Pep's colored pencils.
After choosing the colors I start to paint the ornaments on the inside part of the cat.
And there are always people who ask me to say the name of the colors, the name of the pencils, but I think that more important than the names is to pay attention to the technique because once the technique is understood, choosing the colors is a matter of preference.
It may be that my pencil case is not the same as yours so depending on the manufacturer the names of the pencils may be different.
So, if I say the name, at some point you may not have exactly the color I am using, so what color are going to choose? Which color of your box will be the best to make the replacement?
That is why I always defend the idea that each one should use the material they have or like and not be bound to have exactly the same material that some other person has.
In this video I made constant use of the Chromatic Disc to have more harmonious paintings especially those inside the cat.
I also finished all the paintings that were missing so that only the bottom of the cat would be for the next time.
É um truque bem útil.
When the pencil slips or when the detail is too small to be painted and smudges or comes out of the line a little bit, I use Mitsubishi's permanent black marker to add more lines to the drawing and thus hide a small error.
It's a very useful trick.
That's all for today, in the next post we'll finish the cat and our painting will be ready!
